The Right Parenting for Alpha Generation Children

The right parenting for the alpha generation is positive parenting. This is the type of parenting that emphasizes that the child is human. Children also have feelings and thoughts that should be appreciated by their parents.

So, when parents want to make their children well behaved, it is not done in a way that makes children suffer. For example, making children become kapok assuming that the taste of kapok will make the child become nurut with his parents.

  • It's not just reward and punishment.

According to Yuvita, Positive Parenting is not just a reward and punishment. For example, there is an older brother who is scrambling for toys with his sister, this does not mean the brother is evil because he does not want to share. This is where the role of parents in disciplining or teaching how to share with the sister is right what it is. That's what should be educated in the Alpha generation.   • Doing authoritative parenting

There are 4 types of parenting, namely:

  • Authoritative (balance between demands and support)
  • Authoritarian (high demands but no support)
  • Permissive (low demands but high support)
  • Neglectful (no demands or support)

    • In this Alpha generation, authoritative parenting is considered the most effective. In authoritative parenting, parents will be more democratic and support the Little One. However, that does not mean parents do not have charges against their children.

    They have demands and targets for children with high support. For example, the Little One was found to have difficulty in learning in school.

    Authoritative parenting patterns do not apply parents who are just angry and make goals to the child. Instead, parents will ask their children about what difficulties their children feel.
